This statement envisions a more fair and equitable society and eventually generates a thriving economy. Karl Marx is German economist and revolutionary socialist who saw instability and struggles in the capitalist society and the drawbacks in relation to production and distribution. The three core elements of Marx are profit, labour and the alienation and domination towards women. Overall, Marx addresses the differences in treatment of genders such as different pay, by criticising the economic and social disadvantages experiences by women during that period. Marx created a theory of â€Å"alienation† relating to the nature of human being, incorporating ideas of freedom, creativity and self- expression. He believed that the existing social relations of power assigned on the basis of gender such as marriage have created a situation of alienation and oppression for women. The capitalist economy have also alienated labour in that it lowers self- worth. Marx states that as â€Å"production moves to more modern and specialised techniques, the labour, that is the person, becomes more alienation from their work† (Nyu.edu, 2015). He believes labour is important for individualism and sense of self. In olden times, people felt satisfied for completed the work they created such as a chair or table. There are many ways to prevent or terminate a pregnancy, but are disputed with ethics, religion, and biology. There is a lot of controversy surrounding women’s opinion to be pro-life or pro-choice. One of the most famous examples of government involvement in the matter of women’s reproductive health is Roe v. Wade. In 1973, Roe v. Wade ruled it was unconstitutional to ban abortions except to save the life of the mother. â€Å"The court ruled that the states were forbidden from outlawing or regulating any aspect of abortion performed during the first trimester of pregnancy, could only enact regulations reasonably related to maternal health in the second and third trimesters, and could enact abortion laws protecting the life of the fetus only in the third trimester.† Even after four decades of ruling, abortion and birth control are hot topic debates.
